In this hands-on pottery class, participants will explore the art of creating a unique, functional sushi serving dish. Guided by a skilled instructor, students will learn basic and advanced handbuilding techniques. The focus will be on crafting dishes that not only showcase beautiful craftsmanship but also enhance the dining experience.
Throughout the class, students will create their own sushi plate and dipping bowl, focusing on achieving a balance of aesthetics and usability. The instructor will offer personalized guidance to help bring your design ideas to life. Shortly after the course ends, the instructor will add the finishing touches including firing and glazing your handmade sushi dish, and deliver it back to you.

Kim has been working with ceramics for more than 30 years. Drawing from the vibrant colors of Nevada's sunsets, the whispering winds of the desert, and the rugged majesty of its mountains, Kim’s pottery is a fusion of natural beauty and cultural tradition. With each coil and carve, I pay homage to the rich legacy of Southwest craftsmanship while infusing my work with the spirit of this unique region.
