No Silver Metal Solder or Soldering Iron Needed!
You've seen these expensive-looking floral glass pendants in trendy gift shops, typically made with thin panes of glass, sealed and embellished with silver solder using a hot soldering iron.
In this 3-hour workshop you will learn how to make these yourself without using solder or a soldering iron, customized with your choice of dried flowers or plants and embellished with your own edge decoration. Several "metallic" color options will be provided, and finished samples will be available in class.
Students will receive written step-by-step instructions, individual coaching, diagrams and a supply kit containing 90% of the materials you will need to make one pendant, including a coordinating chain from which to hang your completed pendant. Tips for embellishment and how to use the basic design to create earrings or a bracelet will be included.
Registration fee of $60 per person includes a supply kit with wire, tape, air dry sculpting putty, protective gloves, glass, dried flowers, glue, applicators, alcohol wipes, mica powders, necklace chains, etc.
Recommended for ages 16 and older, and sufficient manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools.
ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES STUDENTS MUST BRING:
- 1 pair small, sharp craft scissors
- 1 pair tweezers or forceps
- Wire cutters
- 6" ruler
- 2-3 small non-marring clips, such as wooden clothespins or snack bag clips
- Small plastic garbage bag to protect work surface
- Box or container to take home your project
