What is a Junk Journal? It is a handbound journal with repurposed materials. These can include reciepts, old books, scrap paper, etc.
In this class, you'll learn the coptic stitch method to bind your very own 4"x6" Junk Journal. Frankie will guide you through a beginner friendly course where you will decorate your covers, choose your junk papers, binding thread color, and put it all together. These journals can be used as a traditional journal, art journal, photo album, and more!
Limit to 4 students. Recommended for ages 15+.
Supplies Provided for Student Use:
2 Covers (Front and Back)
6 Signatures worth of paper
Thread
Wax
Needle for binding
Thumb tack (for punching holes OR you may bring/purchase an awl)
Bone Folder
Misc papers/decorations for your cover (or you can keep it plain to decorate later)
Optional:
Anything you'd like to bind into your journal (We'll find a way to incorporate it!)
Specific decorations for your cover
